Product Description
Epaulette Shark - Hemiscyllium ocellatum
The Epaulette Shark is found in shallow, tropical waters off Australia. The Epaulette is best known for it's 2 black spots and ability to "walk" on sand or rocks. Very great shark to have in an aquarium as it is calm. It is recommended to remove any fish that may nip at the fins of this shark. Building a rock structure is also recommended as this shark likes to hide certain times of the day. The Epaulette Shark can survive hours without oxygen as it increases blood flow to the brain by shutting down certain neurons. This action is common in tide pools in the ocean. The Epaulette Shark can chew it's food for up to 10 minutes when feeding and can crush shells.
