Thornback Guitarfish
The Thornback Guitarfish (Platyrhinoidis triseriata) is a species of ray from the Platyrhinidae family. This ray has thorns that run along it's back, all the way up to the disc portion of it's body. These rays can be found in the muddy bays along the Pacific Ocean.
Recommendations:
Temp: 62 - 72 degrees
Salinity: 1.020 - 1.023
Diet: Squid, clams, anchovies, or shrimp are suitable
Tank/Pond Size: Pond or tank with a minimum of 6 feet diameter across and side. Should have enough sand so that it can bury themself when needed.
Non-agressive species. Should not be mixed with cat sharks or agressive species.
**This species needs a large tank or pond. Will not survive in a small tank!**
